إضراب العاملين في مكتب “بي بي سي” بالقاهرة.. المصريون الأقل راتبًا

دخل العاملون في مكتب هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية في القاهرة، في إضراب عن العمل لمدة ثلاثة أيام من 17 وحتى 19 من يوليو الجاري، وذلك احتجاجًا على تدني الرواتب، وتدهور الأوضاع المعيشية، فضلا عن السلوك التمييزي الذي تتعمد الإدارة في لندن انتهاجه ضد مكتب القاهرة، فيما يخص السياسات المالية.
وشارك الكاتب الصحفي خالد البلشي، نقيب الصحفيين، والكاتب الصحفي محمد الجارحي، ممثلين عن النقابة، في الإضراب الذي دخل فيه صحفيو مكتب هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية بي بي سي في القاهرة، اليوم الإثنين، وسيستمر حتى الأربعاء المقبل.

وأصدر العاملون بيانا قالوا فيه :”هذا هو الإضراب الثاني الذي ننفذه بعد إضرابنا لمدة يوم واحد في 14 يونيو الماضي. يأتي إصرارانا على الاستمرار في خطواتنا الاحتجاجية نتيجة إمعان الإدارة في لندن في تجاهل مطالبنا، بالإضافة إلى النهج التمييزي الذي تتبناه ضد مكتب القاهرة والعاملين فيه، وهو ما يبعث بإشارات سلبية لكل العاملين في القاهرة”.
وأضاف العاملون في بيانهم :”فقدت رواتبنا ما يقرب من نصف قيمتها بسبب تراجع قيمة الجنيه المصري منذ مارس من عام 2022″.
وتابع البيان :”منذ ذلك الحين طالبنا الإدارة مرارًا بتعديل رواتبنا وإعادة النظر فيها. لكن مطالبنا قوبلت إما بالتجاهل، وإما بعرض زيادات هزيلة”.
وأوضح :”في الوقت نفسه، اتخذت الإدارة إجراءات لحل أزمات مشابهة في مكاتب أخرى لها بالمنطقة فضلا عن وجود سلوك تمييزي مع مكاتب أخرى في قواعد صرف الرواتب”.
واختتم العاملون بيانهم :”بناء عليه قررنا التصعيد إلى أن نحصل على حقوقنا كاملة؛ حيث إن الإدارة لم تترك أمامنا خيارًا آخر بعد أن طال انتظارنا لأشهر، على أمل أن نصل لحل عن طريق التسوية أو التفاوض”.

The BBC staff in Cairo are staging a three-day strike, from 17 to 19 July, to protest against their low salaries, and deteriorating living conditions. BBC journalists in Cairo also express their deepest concern towards what they see as systematic discrimination against them, from the management in London, in terms of payment policies.
This is our second strike in nearly a month. The first was a one-day strike on the 14th of June. We are adamant to continue our escalatory measures, in response to the insistence of the management on disregarding our demands, and adopting a discriminatory approach against Cairo staff.
Since March 2022, the Egyptian pound has lost more than half of its value against the US dollar. Since then, we have, repeatedly, asked the managers to review our salaries, in light of this sharp devaluation of the local currency. London, at first, ignored these demands, then offered meagre increases, that never matched or made up for the severe losses we endured, as a result of the devaluation.
Meanwhile, the BBC management has taken measures to resolve similar crises in other bureaus in the region. The managers succeeded in reaching satisfactory financial settlements with the staff, elsewhere in the region, which, in turn, deepened our sense of being discriminated against.
Therefore, we have decided to escalate, until we get our full rights. The BBC has left us with no other option. We kept waiting for months, in the hope that we will reach a resolution through negotiations, but so far we haven’t been given any acceptable offers.
